Welcome (back) to the wards. Attached are attending orientation materials, a draft of the Medicine Service schedule for your rotation, and instructions on how to view your call schedules online. A final copy of the schedule will be provided on or before your orientation day. During the next month, we look forward to working with you as you assume these crucial responsibilities:

• Supervision of your team's patient care.
• Teaching, including efficient post-call work rounds, attending rounds, meeting with students 1-3 times weekly, regular feedback to housestaff and students.
• Documentation.
• Coverage of housestaff for days off.
