SLOVENIAN FILM FESTIVAL 2008

This festival of recent Slovenian feature films and short subjects, is synchronized to take place on December 1-3, 2008 in scores of locations worldwide where Slovenian language is taught. This festival is sponsored by the University of Ljubljana and the Film Foundation of the Republic of Slovenia. Free and open to the public, be sure to check it out at The University of Washington.

New Collection - Pitchfork Album Lists

The UW Media Center is proud to present the addition of Pitchfork Media's top ten album lists to our music collection. Visit the lists' web page here and get an education on the best indie music from the 1980s to 2007. Enjoy classic records such as Talking Heads' Remain In Light, Joy Division's Closer, and Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, or check out a recent album like Panda Bear's Person Pitch, the Hold Steady's Boys and Girls In America, or Spoon's Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga.

New Media - November '08

Lots of great local music added to our Puget Sounds collection this month including: 3 records by Beat Happening, some C.O.C.O., Cock and Swan, Lake, Presidents of the USA, a couple records from the Solvents, United State of Electronica, some Sleater-Kinney, Laura Veirs, and many more. We've also added some DVDs to our Criterion collection this month including: Vampyr, An Autumn Afternoon, Fat Girl, Le Cercle Rouge, I pugni in tasca, I Know Where I'm Going, A Canterbury Tale, Le feu follet, La ronde, Before the rain, and The life aquatic with Steve Zissou.
