George Kraft, professor of
rehabilitation medicine and adjunct professor of
neurology, and Marci Catanzaro, a geriatric nurse practitioner with Primary Health Care Associates in Seattle, will give a University Book Store presentation based on the new second edition of their book,
Living with Multiple Sclerosis: A Wellness Approach. Their presentation will be at 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, in the General Book Department of the main branch of the bookstore. The book was published by Demos.
The book incorporates recent developments in the management of multiple sclerosis and includes strategies for patients who want to optimize their health through exercise, stress management and good nutrition. The book offers guidelines for creating a personalized wellness program.
The book also includes information on research into the causes and course of multiple sclerosis, symptom management, emotional and social considerations, sexuality and pregnancy, and coping with the financial burden of this chronic disease.
Kraft directs the UW Multiple Sclerosis Clinical Center and the UW Multiple Sclerosis Research and Training Center.
