Alfred Berg named chair of new U.S. task force

WASHINGTON -- Alfred O. Berg, professor and acting chair of the Department of Family Medicine, has been appointed chair of the reconvened U.S. Preventive Services Task Force. (more)

New division at FHCRC will bridge basic science, genomics and disease studies

SEATTLE -- A new division at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC) will combine the faculties of the Molecular Medicine Division with the Public Health Sciences' laboratory-based Cancer Biology Program and the Genetics Program, which has many newly recruited members. (more)

SPARX ushers in academic year with annual kick-off

SPARX (Student Providers Aspiring to Rural and Underserved eXperiences) is asking UW health sciences students that question as it ushers in the academic year with its annual kick-off event from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Oct. 13, in room 316 of the South Campus Center at the University of Washington.
