Lee Hartwell awarded 1998 Lasker Award

NEW YORK -- Lee Hartwell, president and director of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, will accept the 1998 Albert Lasker Basic Medical Research Award today, Sept. 25, in New York City. (more)

Lewin to discuss health policy fellowship opportunity

SEATTLE -- Marion Ein Lewin, director of the Institute of Medicine's Fellowships Program, will be in Seattle Nov. 2 to talk with faculty about the Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellowship. (more)

Russell Ross receives awards for vascular disease research

SEATTLE -- Russell Ross, professor of pathology, will receive the 13th annual Okamoto Award from the Japan Vascular Disease Research Foundation in Kyoto on Nov. 7 and will present the first Distinguished Vascular Biology Lecture of the American Heart Association at the association's annual meeting in Dallas on Nov.10. Sylvia Moore to speak on dietary supplements at AMWC
