UW team to develop medical applications for high-speed internet

The UW has received a grant from the National Library of Medicine to develop innovative medical projects that demonstrate Next Generation Internet (NGI) capabilities. (more)

Idaho WWAMI holds legislative conference

Idaho's political leaders viewed their state's WWAMI Program first-hand and met with UW School of Medicine officials at a legislative conference Oct. 12-13 in Boise. The annual WWAMI Report to Legislators, traditionally given in Seattle for all partner states, is now held in each individual state at the request of legislators. (more)

Expanding Medicaid prenatal services decreases low-birthweight rates

Laura-Mae Baldwin, associate professor of family medicine, headed a recent study to determine if expanding Medicaid prenatal services decreases low-birthweight rates for medically high-risk women. The findings were published Nov. 2 in the American Journal of Public Health. (more)

Center for Adoption Medicine opens

The Center for Adoption Medicine is helping parents with the medical, social and developmental issues their children may face, whether the adoption is domestic or international. (more)
