Tricia and Richard Gibbs receive Pew Primary Care Awards honorable mention
BALTIMORE -- Patricia Hellman "Tricia" Gibbs and her husband, Richard Gibbs, were honored during the national 1998 Pew Health Professions Primary Care Awards Program in Baltimore. The couple are 1990 UW family practice residency graduates. They received an Honorable Mention in Patient Care.
The Gibbs gave up their private practice five years ago to create the San Francisco Free Clinic, where each year several thousand uninsured patients receive free health care.
Tricia was a member of the U.S. Ski Team, and Richard was a dancer with the Royal Winnepeg Ballet and the Hamburg Ballet before they attended Yale Medical School.
The Primary Care Awards, funded through the Pew Charitable Trusts, are administered by the Center for the Health Professions at the University of California, San Francisco.
