MEDCON consultation calls increase over last year

Washington tops the list of states with the most consultation phone calls to MEDCON in 1998. Practicing physicians in Washington placed 22,491 calls. Physicians from Alaska chalked-up 4,289 calls; Idaho, 1,207; Montana, 1,507; Wyoming, 35; Oregon, 370; and other countries and states, 815. (more)

Two postdoctoral fellows receive cancer research award

Ellen Lumpkin and Brian Kuhlman, postdoctoral research fellows at the medical school, have won two of the 19 Runyon-Winchell Fellowship Awards given this year. The awards cover three years of fellowship work. (more)

Kraft and de Lateur honored as distinguished clinicians

George Kraft, professor of rehabilitation medicine, and Barbara de Lateur, a former UW faculty member who earned her M.D. degree and completed her residency training at the UW, have received Recognition Awards for Distinguished Clinicians. (more)
