Ramsey receives 1999 Hubbard Award
The National Board of Medical Examiners has presented Paul G.
Ramsey, vice president for medical affairs and dean of the
School of Medicine, with the 1999 Hubbard Award. Ramsey
received the award March 26 at the annual meeting of the
National Board.

Study shows CPR before defibrillation improves survival rate
Performing 90 seconds of CPR on cardiac arrest victims before
shocking their hearts with automatic external defibrillators
improves their chances of survival, according to a
study published in the April 7 issue of the Journal of the
American Medical Association (JAMA).

by UW emergency physician Mickey Eisenberg and his son David Eisenberg.
For more than 25 years, Mickey
Eisenberg has been an international leader in encouraging everyone to
obtain CPR training. The instructional site receives more than 1,000 hits
a day and was favorably reviewed by Net News
