William R. Phillips, a third-generation Seattle native and UW School of Medicine alumnus, has been named Washington state's 1999 Family Physician of the Year by the Washington Academy of Family Physicians.

R. Brian Stevens, assistant professor of surgery, has been named the recipient of the 1999 Fujisawa Faculty Development Award from the American Society of Transplant Surgeons. He will accept the two-year, $50,000 award at the society's annual meeting in Chicago, May 19-21.
