Barnhart named Harborview's medical director
Scott Barnhart, associate professor of medicine, has been named medical
director of Harborview Medical Center and associate dean of

Fifteen graduating medical students receive special awards
The medical school graduated its 50th class of 160 new
physicians June 5. Twenty-five students were inducted into the
Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society, 18 students graduated with
honors, five received book awards, and three received thesis
honors.

Briefly
Medical faculty to tour the state
Three UW School of Medicine faculty members are among those who will
participate in the UW's second annual Faculty
Field Tour
of Washington state June 14-18. UW President Richard L. McCormick will
lead a group of new faculty on a 1,100-mile, five-day bus trip
to learn about the state's people, places and issues.
Joining the tour from the medical school are Tony
Blau, assistant professor of medicine in the Division of Hematology;
Christine Gleason, professor of pediatrics and director of the
Division
of Neonatology; and Joanne Quinsey, lecturer in the
MEDEX Northwest program.
