Barbara Trask, professor of molecular biotechnology, has been named acting chair of her department.

Ballard family physician and UW clinical profesor William Phillips was recently named a "Letter of the Month Award" winner by The Seattle Times. The letter was written in resonse to a Dec. 24 article about the policy of some providers to gaurantee fast, individualized service to patients who agree to pay large, out-of-pocket premiums in advance.
