Kimmey begins term

Michael Kimmey, professor of medicine and assistant chief for clinical affairs in the Division of Gastroenterology, recently began serving a one-year term as president of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.

The ASGE represents more that 7,000 digestive disease specialists in the United States and 55 other countries who use endoscopy in the diagnosis, treatment and study of gastrointestinal diseases.

The UW School of Public Health and Community Medicine is one of eight schools in the country to receive funds to establish a regional Public Health Training Center. (Full story)

Frank Newman, professor emeritus of veterinary virology and medical science at Montana State University-Bozeman, has received the Health Achievement Award from the Deaconess Billings Clinic Foundation. (Full story)
