Maier elected president of American Association of Surgery for Trauma

Ronald Maier, professor of surgery and surgeon-in-chief at Harborview Medical Center, has been elected president of the American Association for the Surgery of Trauma. The association's goals are preventing injury and improving the care of trauma patients through education, training and research.

Students start WRITE this month

New antibiotic studied

Boise Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center researchers and their colleagues at other centers have found that linezolid, the first of a new class of antibiotics, can effectively treat many infections caused by bacteria that are becoming resistant to commonly used antibiotics. (Full Story)
