Aagaard Lecture held May 4

The George and Lorna Aagaard Lecture on medicine and society will be given at 4 p.m., Friday, May 4, in Hogness Auditorium at the UW Health Sciences Center in Seattle. The speaker will be Christine Cassel, chair of the Henry L. Schwartz Department of Geriatrics and Internal Medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. She will speak on "The End of Life: The Beginning of Medicine." A reception in the Health Sciences Center lobby will follow her talk.


Class of 2001 announces teaching awards

The graduating class of the UW School of Medicine has selected recipients of its Distinguished Teacher Awards to be conferred at the Doctoral Hoods and Hippocratic Oath ceremony, June 2. (Full Story)

Montana State University honors Morrison

Richard Morrison, affiliate associate professor of pathology at the UW, will receive Montana State University's Charles and Nora L. Wiley Faculty Award for Meritorious Research and Creativity. (Full Story)
