MEDCON logs nearly 31,000 calls in past year

MEDCON, the UW medical school's toll-free consultation and referral system for WWAMI physicians, logged 30,989 calls from June 2000 through July 2001.

The experts who responded to these callers' requests were from throughout the medical school, its core affiliated hospitals (Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center, and Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center) and other UW health sciences center schools.

Faculty members from these schools and medical centers volunteer as consultants.


Two Centers of Excellence in Genomic Science to be funded at UW
