Group Health Cooperative named Simeon Rubenstein, clinical professor of medicine in the Division of Cardiology, the first health plan medical director. In the newly created position Rubenstein will manage health plan medical policy and relationships with delivery systems and provider groups. He will also work closely with leaders of the care-delivery system and health plans on both operational, performance and strategic planning.
Rubenstein completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of California at Los Angeles and a fellowship in cardiology at the UW. He also served as a flight surgeon in the U.S. Air Force. Rubenstein joined Group Health in 1974 and has served as chief of cardiology and chief of staff.
