Genome Sciences hosts first symposium May 29

The first symposium hosted by the new UW Department of Genome Sciences, "Genetic Variation in Disease and Development," will be held from 9:45 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29, in the Hogness Auditorium A-420 Health Sciences. (Full Story)

Pre-register for venture capital symposium

The School of Medicine's Office of Research and Graduate Education, Industry Relations, the School of Engineering and Frazier & Co., a venture capital firm, are hosting "Developing a Viable Company with Venture Capital Funding" from 7:30 a.m. to noon, Thursday, June 13, in the Walker-Ames Room of Kane Hall on campus.

The free symposium's goal is to provide critical information for entrepreneurial transfer of a new technology from the academic environment to a commercial enterprise with venture capital funding. To register, send an e-mail to pat@frazierco.com. Contact Industry Relations at 206- 616-0750 with questions. Pre-registration is required by Friday, May 24.
