On Friday, September 20 the Washington State Medical Association (WSMA) honored former Governor of Washington Albert Rosellini during the Annual President's Banquet. Rosellini introduced to the Washington state legislature Senate Bill 15, the legislation passed in 1945 that established the UW Schools of Medicine and Dentistry.
At the banquet Sam Cullison, former president of WSMA and clinical professor of family medicine, addressed the WSMA group, including many UW School of Medicine graduates. Newly installed WSMA president, Olympia neurologist and UW alumna, Maureen Callaghan recognized the School of Medicine as the "soul of the physicians in the state of Washington."
WSMA presented a plaque to Rosellini and the School of Medicine will also receive a copy of the plaque for display.
