Glenn Ervin Talboy, 81, died Tuesday, September 24 from complications of congestive heart failure. Talboy was a clinical instructor of surgery and former chief of staff at
Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho.
Talboy received an M.D. from St. Louis University School of Medicine in Missouri in 1946. He completed an internship and residency in St. Louis and served in the Army Air Corps in the Panama Canal Zone as a General Medical Officer. After a fellowship at Ellis Fischel State Cancer Hospital in Columbia, Mo., Talboy and his wife moved to Boise, Idaho.
After retiring from private practice in 1990, Talboy continued as a staff general surgeon at the Veteran's Hospital, Boise, Idaho from 1990-1995; and until October of 2001, as consulting surgeon, while remaining active as an associate professor of medicine at the UW. Talboy also attained the rank of Major in the Idaho Air National Guard.
He is survived by eight children and 25 grandchildren.
