General Surgery performs Operation: Peanut Butter

The UW Division of General Surgery is attempting to collect 2,512 pounds of peanut butter, enough to match the combined estimated weight of the division's surgeons. The donations will go to a local food bank, Northwest Harvest. Food bank administrators said peanut butter is one of the most-needed items for its clients.

Contributions of jars of peanut butter and monetary donations for bulk purchases are coming in from individuals and businesses. The collection point is the Division of General Surgery faculty offices, BB421-451 in the UW Health Sciences Center.

For more information on Operation: Peanut Butter, contact Rosemary Mitchell, Division of General Surgery research coordinator, 206-543-9322.
