Drug-releasing coronary stent inserted in UW Medicine Heart Center procedure
The day after the United States Food and Drug Administration approved a drug-releasing coronary stent designed to keep the artery unclogged, a UW Medicine Heart Center team inserted this stent during a procedure April 25. (Full Story)

Beach receives award for educational outreach

Kirk Beach, research professor of surgery, has received the third-annual UW Distinguished Contributions to Lifelong Learning Award. May 27 workshop on designing effective educational experiences

The Department of Medical Education and Biomedical Informatics will present a faculty development workshop entitled "Teaching for Learning: From A - Z". This workshop will provide practical tips on designing more effective educational experiences. Presenters from the department include Fredric Wolf, professor and chair; and Donna Ambrozy, lecturer. The workshop will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, May 27, in room 303, South Campus Center.
