Training encouraged on new electronic medical record

A new electronic medical record system, the Online Record of Clinical Activity (ORCA), will be phased in beginning this month.

Phase 1 introduces the PowerChart, Clinical Data Repository, Results Reporting, and Health Information Management (patient data services) applications. These applications will be available at Harborview Medical Center, UW Medical Center, the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, and all associated clinics.

After Aug. 19, all transcribed documents will be edited, signed and forwarded using ORCA. WebSign and paper signing will be used only for those documents created before Aug. 19. ORCA will also replace CreateNote for direct note entry.
