Stamatoyannopoulos receives grant from NHGRI

George Stamatoyannopoulos, professor of genome sciences and medicine at the UW, has received a $2.3 million grant from the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI) for his involvement in the new effort to identify all functional elements in human DNA. (Full Story)

Family practice graduates performing range of procedures

Many graduates of the UW Family Practice Residency Network are establishing practice in communities with fewer than 25,000 residents, providing hospital and maternity care, and performing a wide range of procedures, according to a survey performed by UW researchers. (Full Story)

UW named center for muscular dystrophy research

The UW has been named one of three new cooperative centers in the nation for research on muscular dystrophies, and will receive $6.9 million over five years from the National Institutes of Health to fund that research. (Full Story)
