Lawrence Robinson, professor and chair of rehabilitation medicine, has been awarded the Distinguished Academician Award by the Association of Academic Physiatrists. Robinson is a rehabilitation physician at Harborview Medical Center.
The AAP Distinguished Academician Award honors recipients who have achieved distinction and peer recognition regionally or nationally in teaching, research, and administration. The AAP will present the award to Robinson on Thursday, Feb. 26, at its annual meeting in Albuquerque, N.M.
The AAP has only given out the award nine times, but Robinson is the third UW faculty member to receive it. George Kraft, professor of rehabilitation medicine and director of electrodiagnostic medicine in the Western MS Clinic, won the award in 2001. Former UW faculty member Barbara de Lateur received the award in 1997.
