A former UW medical resident has written a book about her time in residency. Emily Transue's book, On Call: A Doctor's Days and Nights in Residency, was released this month from St. Martin's Press.
The book is a collection of Transue's writings from her three years of residency. An excerpt from the book appears in this month's issue of Self magazine.
Transue received her bachelor's degree from Yale University, and her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the UW School of Medicine, also serving as chief resident, until July 2000.
