Rule named editor of Online News
Marsha Rule, a public information specialist in the Health Sciences/UW Medicine News and Community Relations office, is the new editor of the School of Medicine Online News. The weekly electronic news service, now in its ninth year, is a publication for UW medical faculty, medical students, and residents across the WWAMI region.
Rule succeeds Justin Reedy, the outgoing editor, who will be performing more media relations duties for the office in the areas of biomedical and basic science research. He will also continue writing for other News and Community Relations publications. Rule comes to the Online News editorship from Harborview Medical Center, where she was writer and editor for several internal and external publications, including Harborview Cares, a newsletter for referring physicians.
Prior to working at Harborview, she was a corporate communicator and a journalist. She received her bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri, and a master's degree in journalism from Columbia University in New York. She has worked for the public television station KCTS, Seattle Public Schools, and the Seattle Times.
