George Stamatoyannopolous steps down as head of Division of Medical Genetics

George Stamatoyannopoulos, the Arno G. Motulsky Endowed Professor of Medicine, has resigned as head of the Division of Medical Genetics in the Department of Medicine, effective March 11. He remains an active professor in the department and will continue to hold the Motulsky Professorship until a new division head is appointed.

Maynard Olson, professor of medicine and genome sciences, is acting division head.

Stamatoyannopoulos, professor of medicine and genome sciences and director of the Markey Molecular Medicine Center, succeeded Motulsky as head of the division in 1989.
