Call for Volunteers: Seattle MESA Day

Screenshot 2014-04-09 11.34.26We are recruiting volunteers to help us with our 2014 Seattle MESA Day on Saturday, April 26th! The event will take place at Jane Addams K-8 school (11051 34th Ave NE Seattle, WA), and volunteers will be on-site 8:30am through 3:00pm. Refreshments and lunch will be provided!

The MESA Program (Math, Engineering, and Science Achievement) seeks to engage a diverse group of middle school and high school students in STEM activities, which provide hands-on opportunities, project-based learning, and exposure to careers within the STEM fields.

Screenshot 2014-04-09 11.37.42Our MESA Day is a combination of a competition (this year the students are testing Prosthetic Arms that they built in their MESA classes) and STEM-related activities done in teams.

Our volunteers will help to judge elements of the competition (testing or oral presentations), help to lead other STEM-related activities (instructions provided in advance), or will help with logistics (check-in, guiding student teams to the correct room, etc.).

To volunteer, please register online by April 21:
