State MESA Day Winners in the news!!

Shadle Park High School was featured in two News pieces about their MESA journey as well as their future participation at the MESA USA event in June 2014:

“Last year, the students admitted their prosthetic arm was heavy and a bit clunky and challenging to control. This year, Kleopatra Deltchev, Jessica Lim and Hailey Guyette started from scratch. They interviewed local professionals and changed their design completely. The end result: a lighter, more efficient model.”

“MESA Spokane manager Joanna Moznette said the three teens didn’t let the barriers of everyday life get in their way: they even used FaceTime to video chat when they couldn’t be together. “Sometimes they just worked in two ‘cause all three of them couldn’t make it,” Moznette said. “They made sure that third person stayed looped in on the project. They really moved forward as a team and I think that is something that will translate into their careers no matter what they are.” All three students aspire to medical careers.”
