It allows you to show your ability to organize your thoughts and express yourself. This statement will be reviewed and evaluated carefully by the scholarship committee. With this in mind, please type an essay up to 500 words in length (1-2 pages double-spaced); be sure to express your interest and motivation to gain a STEM degree. Please discuss your background, your goals, and your objectives in life. The essay should also include academic and technical accomplishments, community and program involvement.

  • I hereby sign that the above information is correct and that I have read all the scholarship materials regarding the standard requirements and application materials. I understand that misinformation or failure to meet the requirements will disqualify me from receiving a scholarship. I am responsible for asking or collecting information about the application timeline. If for any reason I choose not to attend a community college or 4-year university it will result in cancellation of scholarship funds. With my signature, I authorize Washington MESA, MESA K-12 the right to use my information and likeness for the purpose of promoting and publicizing the MESA Scholarship. I authorize MESA staff to verify my academic performance and GPA. Upon request, I will provide a copy of my Student Aid Report (SAR). I authorize MESA staff to verify my program enrollment. If I am awarded, I authorize MESA staff to monitor and report my GPA, major, and financial aid information and release my demographic information to NSF. I authorize the release of my official/unofficial transcripts. Furthermore, I understand and agree to all the requirements for the scholarship and the process as outlined in this package.
