CURRENT RESEARCH INTERESTS

Clinical trials:  1) Action to Control Cardiovascular Risk in Diabetes (ACCORD); 2) Outcomes of Weight Loss in Type 2 Diabetes (LOOK Ahead).  Investigation of disorders of bone and mineral metabolism including:   1) osteoporosis, 2) bone and mineral metabolism in pregnancy and lactation; 3) abnormalities of bone physiology in short-gut patients; and, 4) impact of parenteral nutrition on bone histology and bone mineral metabolism.
