Jac Davies, Director
Beacon Community of the Inland Northwest
The UW MHA Program kicks off its 40th anniversary year with an engaged discussion about the organizational and managerial implications of Health Information Technology (HIT) and Health Information Exchange (HIE). Keynote speaker Jac Davies frames the event with insight into her work with Beacon Community of the Inland Northwest, followed by hosted roundtable discussions by attendees as well as a reception. We encourage MHA alumni, faculty, and students, as well as colleagues from the local health care community to attend.
Evening for Alumni is hosted by the UW MHA Program, which is housed in the UW Department of Health Services and School of Public Health.
About the Speaker
Jac Davies is the Director of the Beacon Community of the Inland Northwest. She led the development of the successful $15.7 million proposal to obtain federal funding for the creation of a regional care coordination project for individuals with diabetes. She currently manages the new program that was created, including developing project plans and overseeing implementation of those plans, as well as communicating and coordinating with federal and state agencies and multiple private sector health care organizations such as hospitals, physician offices, insurers, pharmacies, laboratories and long term care organizations.
Davies' prior role at INHS was Director of Northwest TeleHealth, Regional Outreach and health@work, where she managed a large regional telemedicine network, providing continuing education and support for rural health care providers and promoting employee wellness. She also served as executive sponsor for INHS projects to develop a health record bank and to report data from a regional health information exchange to state and federal public health agencies.
Prior to joining INHS, Davies worked at the Washington State Department of Health, where she was Assistant Secretary for the Division of Epidemiology, Health Statistics, and Public Health
