Executive MHA student, Kate Cross, receives 2010 Margaret Geering Award

Executive MHA student, Kate Cross, has received the 2010 Margaret Geering Award from the Washington Association of Medical Staff Services (WAMSS), an affiliate of the National Association of Medical Staff Services. The Margaret Geering Award was established in 2001 and was named in the honor of the first WAMSS President. This award is given annually to a WAMSS member who has contributed significantly to the profession.

Kate is Medical Staff Coordinator/Regional Lead for Kindred Hospital in Seattle. She upholds excellent credentialing standards and maintains a high quality medical staff, which reflects a high degree of diligence in her work. Her interactions with her counterparts are always pleasant, professional, and meaningful. She has been President of WAMSS and is currently the WAMSS webmaster. She travels throughout her health care system to educate and standardize credentialing practices and is involved with accreditation and compliance for Kindred Hospital.
