I joined the UW Executive MHA Program because I wanted to increase the breadth and depth of my knowledge of the challenges facing health care consumers, practitioners, and organizations. I wanted to learn the most effective ways to identify the root causes of our system failures and the best ways to facilitate positive changes.
What are your career goals, and how do you feel the UW Executive MHA Program is assisting you in reaching those goals?
My career goal is to have a role that will include analyses of health care delivery systems, identification of opportunities for improvement, and the development of practical solutions to barriers that impede the humane, effective, and efficient delivery of health care services. The UW Executive MHA Program is providing me with the theoretical knowledge, skill set, and hands-on experiences necessary to fill such a role. The professors are knowledgeable about the theories and the realities of health care systems. They share their knowledge generously and actively support their students. It is clear that they want each of us to succeed. I especially appreciate the cohort approach to our class structure, because we remain together for the entire 24 months of the Program and class members get to know each other very well. We learn a great deal from one another and support each other through the adventures of graduate school.
