UW MHA Program Director Coaches Case Competition Team to Success

In February, the UW Master of Health Administration (MHA) Program supported (in association with the UW Foster School of Business as the overall sponsor) a team in the first annual Leadership in Healthcare Case Competition hosted by Emory University's Goizueta Business School. This competition was included as part of Emory University's Sixth Annual Goizueta Healthcare Forum. The UW team included two first-year concurrent MHA/MBA students, Dan Anderson and Derek Wilson, and two second-year MBA students, Kirsten Jansen and Joe Michiels. MHA Program Director, Will Welton, DrPH, MHA, served as the team's coach.

This team was competitively selected to participate in the case competition along with teams from eleven other business schools. They made it to the finals. The universities represented in the finals were the University of Washington, Dartmouth University, and the University of Chicago. The finish order in the competition was Dartmouth, University of Washington, and University of Chicago.

The case was on a Boston, Massachusetts diabetes management clinic called the Joslin Clinic, which is run in conjunction with Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.

Congratulations to Dan, Derek, Kirsten, Joe, and Dr. Welton for their success!
