EMHA Program Costs
Tuition and Related Fees
The 2007-08 (autumn-summer) first year tuition for students entering the program in Autumn 2007 is estimated at $21,546 ($567 per credit).* Tuition fees will include some coverage of discretionary expenses for student related activities such as orientation, graduation, and special events. Students are responsible for other quarterly expenses (such as textbooks and course reading packets, other course related software or supplies, and UW designated fees associated with registration and technology support). The cost for textbooks, reading packets, and other course related expenses is estimated at $300-500 per quarter. Currently, parking at the classroom site in Bellevue is free.
Tuition payments are due in quarterly installments prior to the official UW start date of each quarter. As credit loads for each quarter vary, quarterly tuition totals will vary.* Specific details and instructions regarding registration, tuition payment, and related fees and deadlines are typically distributed several weeks in advance of each quarter.
* Annual per credit tuition rate increases typically mirror the percentage projected for state-funded programs. Beginning with the cohort of students admitted Autumn 2007, a single tuition rate will be applied to both first and second year students. All fees, including tuition, and credit loads are subject to future changes. Meals are not included.
Financial Aid
Beginning in academic year 2004-2005, students entering the program in a given year will be guaranteed a consistent per credit rate for the duration of their two-year period of study. Students continuing beyond the typical two year period may be charged increased rates.
* Per credit tuition is calculated for incoming students prior to each year based on a two year projection of annual tuition rates. Per credit rates for incoming and continuing students are then assigned to first and second year courses, respectively. Thus, the per credit rates for first and second year courses are different. If a first year student takes a second year course (and vice versa), he/she will be charged the credit rate associated with that course.

Tuition Exemption
As a self-sustaining program, we regret that students in the Executive MHA program are not able to access the Tuition Exemption Program available to many Washington state and UW employees. For additional information, you may contact the UW Tuition Exemption Program office at 206-543-1957.
Employer Sponsorship
Organizations wishing to invest in their future may sponsor employees by providing for some or all of the following: tuition reimbursement; continuation of salary during program travel and projects; leave for program activities without debiting vacation time; and reimbursement for travel, lodging, and other appropriate expenses incurred while attending on-campus sessions.
