Graduation

Graduation is not automatic at the UW!

Three quarters prior to the quarter in which you plan to graduate, make an appointment with the Program Coordinator to apply for graduation.

You and the Program Coordinator will complete the application for your degree and review the requirements remaining for graduation. The Graduation Office will monitor your progress as you complete the remaining required courses listed.

It is very important that you come in to apply two to three quarters early so that you have enough time to complete any outstanding requirements.

Although you can graduate in any quarter, there is only one commencement ceremony each year, in June, for everyone graduating during the academic year. You will receive your diploma about three months after you graduate.

In unusual circumstances it may be necessary for you to petition for a waiver of certain departmental or Arts & Sciences requirements or rules. Contact the Program Coordinator for information and forms.
