"An individual has not started living until he can rise above the narrow confines of his individualistic concerns to the broader concerns of all humanity."

UW Alumni & EarthCorps: Environmental Restoration at Cheasty Greenspace

Alumni are encouraged to participate with their family and friends, teaming up with students and others in the University community in an environmental restoration project with Seattle EarthCorps at the Cheasty Greenspace urban forest as a part of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service.

MLK Jr. Day of Service participants should expect to learn a brief history of Cheasty Greenspace and an overview of Seattle's urban forests. EarthCorps staff will discuss Dr King's legacy, forest structure, native vs. non-native plant species, environmental restoration and safety. The environmental restoration service project will take place outdoors, so volunteers should plan to dress appropriately.

The UW Alumni & EarthCorps Environmental Restoration project is still in need of a Project Leader --- if you're interested, please email
