Final texts should
be prepared in accordance with The Chicago Manual of Style,
fifteenth edition, and journal style. In addition to the citation
requirements of the Chicago style guide, the editing staff has made
stylistic choices for consistency within the journal.
Use unobtrusive parenthetical documentation for works that have previously
been cited. Use a title word in preference to an unfamiliar acronym.
If an original reference is hard to locate, insert a reminder of the
note number.
After acceptance, you will resubmit your work on disk with the endnotes
as a separate file from the rest of the text. This requires disembedding
what is usually an automatic word-processing function. It greatly
reduces the tasks of copyediting and production when submissions conform
to the format agreed upon by the editors and press. We truly appreciate
your involvement at this level; it keeps our costs down.
For convenience,
this style guide is included here as a pdf. You will need Adobe Acrobat
reader in order to access the style guide.
