M3D PhD Curriculum

Curriculum for this new program is still in development, and will be finalized by Summer 2014. The proposed curriculum is as follows:

Fall Quarter, Year 1:
Mechanisms of Disease (3 credits)
HIPAA training, Responsible Conduct of Research
Elective course
Laboratory Rotation

Winter Quarter, Year 1:
Molecular Medicine
(3 credits)
Chief of Medicine Rounds
Elective course
Laboratory Rotation

Spring Quarter, Year 1:
Human Genetics (3 credits)
Elective course
Laboratory Rotation

By Spring Quarter, Year 2:
Statistics course (online or UW course)
Mentored Clinical Rotation in Human Genetics or in Medicine

Students may choose electives from the many courses offered by UW Departments of Pathology, Medicine, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Genome Sciences, Immunology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Physiology & Biophysics.
