Research Interests:
My research interests are currently focused on stem cells. I have been and will be working on human and mouse embryonic stem cells as well as dog hematopoietic stem cells. Stem cells are well known for their ability to self-renew while maintaining their pluripotent status and they can also differentiate into multiple cell types. This feature makes them very valuable for regenerative medicine. I am excited about the many possibilities for stem cell therapies that can be used to benefit patients.

I’ve always been interested in research that has clinical applications, and the Molecular Medicine Program will provide me with a broader understanding of clinical issues. I’m also very appreciative for the opportunity to do a clinical rotation, which I believe will help me understand more about how bench-side work is translated to bedside.
