MSE Materials Characterization User Facility

About the Facility

The MSE Materials Characterization User Facility is a
cost center set up to provide scientific analysis, x-ray diffraction and mechanical testing services to the university and corporate research communities.  The MCUF has Instron, Rockwell, Micromeritics, Netzsch, Philips and other equipment available for mechanical testing, particle-size analysis, porosity measurement, x-ray diffraction, thermal analysis and heat-treating.

The facility provides training and help with analysis for users of the facility.  Users are encouraged to learn to operate the equipment, but operation and analysis will be provided on request.  All equipment is charged on a hourly basis.

Facilities are located in Mueller, Roberts and Wilcox Halls.
