This year\u2019s keynote event explores the theme of <strong>empowering students<\/strong>\u00a0through teaching and will feature:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Cate Denial &#8211; Bright Distinguished Professor of American History | Bright Institute at Knox College<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kevin Lin &#8211; Assistant Teaching Professor, Computer Science &amp; Engineering<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maya Smith &#8211; Associate Professor, French &amp; Italian Studies, and Associate Dean for Equity, Justice &amp; Inclusion<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rachel Song &#8211; doctoral student, Psychology<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This event will focus on the theme of \u201cempowering students\u201d and will consist of two parts: 1) a keynote talk by Cate Denial, an award-winning scholar and author of the forthcoming, <em><a href=\"https:\/\/urldefense.com\/v3\/__https:\/www.oupress.com\/9780806193854\/a-pedagogy-of-kindness\/__;!!K-Hz7m0Vt54!l1_FvPwVN9pPW2n90A05l0VjIWiUjaS05VQY4Dop2fP-aMHJAcZ6qnklqhoYX3v1F30zHogxQqcnAM4$\">A Pedagogy of Kindness<\/a><\/em>, and 2) a panel discussion between Denial and 3 UW educators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Come in person and share a cup of coffee or tea with colleagues or join by Zoom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Learn more and register here:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-wp-embed is-provider-teaching-uw wp-block-embed-teaching-uw\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/teaching.washington.edu\/learn\/teaching-and-learning-symposium\/\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Questions?
