FINDING PERIMETER

RECORD ALL INFORMATION ON A LAB SHEET

Objective: The student will apply perimeter to determine the cost of a fencing project

("real-world") with 70% accuracy.

Materials needed: pencil, paper lab report sheet, calculator.

Directions: Read the specification letter below and use this information with the Brushy Mountain Fence Company’s(next page) pricing guide to meet the cost terms of the project.

Grading Procedure: Maximum group points will be rewarded to the team who is the best organizes, presents, and participates in this activity.

FOR: Morgan County Correction Fence Grant Project

FENCE: 10 feet high with six strings of barbed wires placed 1 foot apart and at a 45 degree angle inward at the top of the fence

POLES: Placed 10 feet apart and secured with at least 10 pounds of cement

PERIMETER : see blueprint below (bottom of next page)

SECURITY: motorized 10 foot gate and 10X12 building included in bid

COSTS: bids must not be greater than the grant money available:$35,000.00

DEADLINE: bids must be received by August 15,1997
