Biodiversity Modules

fungi

The 2009 Roy bioblitz included experts from many taxonomic groups. Two fungi were reported which lead to NatureMapping’s interest to work with mycologists to help develop a biodiversity module.

The Fungi Biodiversity Module does not exist yet, but there is work being done that citizen scientists can become involved in. While everyone thinks of fungi as mushrooms, there are other fungi, such as powdery mildew, whose identification and location could be helpful to scientists. In fact, Master Gardeners have helped scientists by reporting powdery mildew.
