2. Speaking Species II

  1. Open the website:  http://depts.washington.edu/natmap
  2. Choose “MAPS”
  3. Scroll down past the state map to the list of animals.
  4. Select the “X” for your animal.
  5. Use the map of the state to determine if the animal lives in your area.
  6. Select “Other maps”, if available, at the bottom of the screen for more habitat information.
  7. Add the common name and the species code to your data collection form.
  8. Record the scientific and common name in your journal.
