Sultan’s Dreams Project is an affiliate of Newbook Digital Texts. It introduces the Ottoman sultan Murad III and his dream letters that he sent to his spiritual master. The Sultan’s letters were collected in a manuscript, entitled  The Kitābu’l-Menāmāt (“The Book of Dreams”) in 1592/1593, a few years before the Sultan’s death.  A diplomatic edition of the text was recently published by Ozgen Felek in Turkey by Tarih Vakfı Yurt Yayınları.

These letters are currently being translated into English by Ozgen Felek and Walter G. Andrews for publication.

Sultan’s Dreams Project includes the English translation of the first 100 letters into English along with some information about the Sultan and The Kitābu’l-Menāmāt.
