AMERICAN COUNCIL OF LEARNED SOCIETIES
American Council of Learned Societies offers fellowships and grants in over one dozen programs, for research in the humanities and humanistic social sciences at the doctoral and postdoctoral levels.

AMERICAN RESEARCH CENTER IN EGYPT
Over the course of nearly five decades, ARCE’s fellowship program has benefited more than five hundred scholars, whose research interests span the diversity of Egypt’s periods and cultures. The goal of ARCE’s fellowship program is to promote knowledge of Egypt and the Near East through study and research, and to aid in the training of American specialists in academic disciplines that require familiarity with Egypt.

 

AMERICAN RESEARCH INSTITUTE IN TURKEY

ARIT directly supports and administers a variety of programs of fellowships for scholarly research and for language study in Turkey.

 

AMERICAN SCHOOLS OF ORIENTAL RESEARCH

This site hosts of a number of fellowships pertaining to archeological field projects in the Middle East. They also provide links to other fellowships pertaining to research in the Middle East.

 

CENTER FOR ARABIC STUDY ABROAD (CASA)

Fellowships for advanced Arabic language study at the American University in Cairo for the academic year. Two types of fellowships are available:

Summer-Only Fellowships, which allow students to participate in an intensive seven-week summer language and culture program that includes 10 weekly hours of Egyptian Colloquial Arabic and 8 hours of Modern Standard Arabic plus a weekly tour in Arabic.

Full-Year Fellowships, which provide intensive language and culture training in both Egyptian Colloquial Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic (reading, listening and writing) for three semesters.


FULBRIGHT FELLOWSHIPS

Fulbright fellowships are sponsored by the U.S. Department of State and are the largest U.S. international exchange program offering opportunities for students, scholars, and professionals to undertake international graduate study, advanced research, university teaching, and teaching in elementary and secondary schools worldwide.

 

JACK KENT COOKE FELLOWSHIP

The Graduate Scholarships cover tuition, room, board, fees and books - up to $50,000 annually - for up to six years.  The scholarships are among the most generous academic awards offered in the United States.
"Our objective is to help high achieving students who have financial need, whether they are attending a middle school in rural Kansas or Harvard Medical School," said Dr. Matthew J. Quinn, executive director of the Foundation.  "The graduate scholarship recipients know hard work and sacrifice.  These scholarships recognize their devotion to education, reward their efforts, and provide an incentive to continue excelling . . . and, we hope, to benefit society."

 

MELLON FELLOWSHIPS FOR DISSERTATION RESEARCH
The Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) offers fellowships funded by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for dissertation research in the humanities in original sources.

 

NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE HUMANITIES
The National Endowment of the Humanities has summer stipends which support individuals pursuing advanced research that contributes to scholarly knowledge or to the public's understanding of the humanities. Recipients usually produce scholarly articles, monographs on specialized subjects, books on broad topics, archaeological site reports, translations, editions, or other scholarly tools.

 

SOCIAL SCIENCE RESEARCH COUNCIL
SSRC fellowship and grant programs provide support and professional recognition to innovators within fields, and especially to younger researchers whose work and ideas will have longer-term impact on society and scholarship.

 

TURKISH COALITION OF AMERICA
TCA Turkish American Scholarship Program - 2008
One of the objectives of TCA is to engage and cultivate a new generation of young Turkish American leaders. As part of this objective, TCA has established a Scholarship program for successful young Turkish Americans who aspire to a career in public affairs and the media.
