NICU Medical Director, Providence Regional Medical Center Everett
Dr. Neufeld is interested in long-term neurodevelopmental outcomes of premature infants. His recent research has focused on maternal infection and the risk of cerebral palsy in term and preterm infants, and on markers of inflammation and the risk of severe retinopathy of prematurity. He manages the division's clinical database, participation in the Vermont Oxford Network, and developed a database of the patients seen in the High-Risk Infant Follow-up clinic. He will be mentoring Neonatology fellows in data management and in research projects using the databases. Other interests include quality improvement, eliminating nosocomial infections, and medical education. Dr. Neufeld is the medical director of the NICU at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, WA and is developing a 3rd year rotation for neonatal fellows at that site.
